Lil' Chicks
Cattle Co.

About Us

Lil Chicks Cattle Co. was founded in the fall of 2014 by sisters, Megan Beswitherick and Shaelyn Toews. The pair started their herd with 4 Simm/Angus crossed commercial cows that they purchased from their parents, Lyndon and Laurelly Beswitherick, of B2 Cattle Co.
Finding their passion for Simmental cattle, Shaelyn and Megan decided to follow their hearts into the purebred business. Using their knowledge of the cattle industry learned from growing up on a beef farm and being active members of their local 4-H, the sisters have been building up their herd throughout the years. They have purchased animals from many well-known breeders such as; WLB Livestock, Pheasantdale Cattle Co., McMillen Ranching LTD., Cornerstone Cattle Co., Wilcox Simmentals, Schweitzer Simmentals, Downhill Simmentals, Perkins Land and Cattle, etc.
Shaelyn and Megan have competed across Manitoba in summer, fall, and winter livestock shows, also while gaining experience working for other purebred breeders. The passion and learning mindset that they bring to the Simmental industry are standout qualities that continue to push them to develop their herd to the best it can be. In 2020, Lil Chicks Cattle Co. made a large investment into the industry, doubling their herd size and making new connections. They look forward to meeting many new people and being representatives for the Simmental family! They encourage anyone to visit the farm to see their rising prospects, or stop by for a visit to try the famous pies!
